Welcome to our private law practice.  Clay has been representing clients in Southern Utah since 1978.  Sonia and Robert each have more than six years of litigation experience, private and public, in Oregon.  Now they are part of our firm as Utah lawyers.  We are well established and understand the legal system.  We are committed to quality work and reasonable fees.  Our caseload is maintained to accommodate the time and resources required to provide high quality legal representation.  Experience shows that good work on a case from the beginning not only supports more favorable rulings, settlements, and other positive resolutions, but also saves our client money and time.  We prefer solution-oriented representation, whether through judgment, verdict, negotiated settlement, or mediation.

We give personal time and attention to you, our client.  We do not delegate cases to clerks, associates, paralegals, or others.  We keep close track of costs and time so that you always know where your hard-earned dollars go.  We account at least monthly, and send you a detailed report where your money and our time have been applied.  Whether you hire The Huntsman Firm or go elsewhere, keep in mind that stated hourly fees are not always a reliable indicator of your ultimate out-of-pocket legal expenses.  We have seen that sometimes lawyers with little experience or competence actually charge more per hour than experienced lawyers do.  Often a seasoned lawyer with a manageable case load and a clear, unconflicted approach can help you resolve your legal problem more thoroughly, speedily, and sensibly, and at less cost.  Likewise, a “low-cost” attorney may ignore your case, or take more time than is reasonable because of inexperience or personal problems.

Be sure you have a good, thorough contract with your attorney so that there are no “surprises”.  Beware of “oral” agreements, flat fees, and unspecified terms.  Don’t fall for the old “give me $500 (or $1000) and I’ll do your case” unless you have it in writing, and spell out the scope of representation.  Remember, it is harder to “undo” poor legal work than to do it right the first time.

No responsible attorney will  “guarantee” an outcome.  Only licensed attorneys–not paralegals, secretaries, law students,  lawyer wannabes, bar buddies, or friends and relatives–can lawfully provide representation or legal advice.

We care about our clients.  Our loyalty is to them alone.  We hope you value your case, and make it your priority.
